There are three ways of monitoring and securing doors in Assisted Living Homes. Two of the ways slow or prevent egress and the third option still allows normal egress but alerts you of the door opening.

The door alert system we install is for non-lockdown facilities. It does not hamper egress from the premise. It simply alerts on-site staff that a door has been opened so that staff can see whether a person is exiting or entering the facility. When a door is opened without entering the code first, a chime alerts on-site staff. The chime remains sounding untill a staff member responds and enters the correct code to silence the chime. This works great for non-lockdown, non-certified facilities.
